Without a doubt, Sutherland exhibits the best fleece we have ever seen on a young alpaca. It falls in long, thin lustrous pencils with deep amplitude crimp from the skin to the tip. It is incredibly consistent wherever the fleece is opened and we have been unable to find any medulated fibre. His sire, Fernando is a son of Woolmaker II and is a recommended SRS® wool male. Fernando is holding his fineness and cuts a massive fleece – almost 7 kgs last shearing.

His dam, Anna is from Inti out of a Brigantine dam, Benleigh Top Class who has produced a number of show winners including well known stud male – Hadstock NZ Governor. Anna herself did well at shows when young and on her 6th shear cut an impressive 4.035kgs of 24.54 micron fleece.

Not only is Jedi packed full of genetics imported from America such as Luminosa, Hemingway, Drambuie and Auzengate, but he has black genetics on both sides of his family. As a result he tends to throw to the colour of the dam, or darker, and has produced a number of solid black progeny where there are black genetics in the background of the female. His soft-handling fleece is lustrous and dense and has excellent structure with amedium frequency deep amplitude crimp style. This boy will do well over any coloured female
